Timor
The town that feeds on fear.

Timor is a town like no other. On the surface it looks ordinary enough — streets, houses, neighbours, a local paper. But something is wrong here. Something has always been wrong here. The strange and the sinister exist just beneath the surface of everyday life in Timor, and once you start looking you cannot stop.

It is a world of witchcraft and compulsion, of creatures that should not exist, of disappearances that the police prefer not to investigate too closely. It is gothic, darkly comic, and entirely its own thing. And it is only just beginning.

Timorian Case Files
The Watcher
The Watcher

They are invisible to everyone in Timor but Shirley, and are responsible for selecting the right people to live here, whether they want to or not. Timor survives on a constant flow of negative energy, and the Watchers make sure our residents conform. The fact that you are reading this means they have been watching you.

Timorian Bristleback
Timorian Bristleback

The most feared creature in Timor resides mostly in the Forbidden Forest. A tiny prick from one of its bristles will paralyse you instantly and send out a call to every Bristleback in the area. If this happens to you, you are basically feasted upon by thousands of spiders at the same time and while you are still alive.

Timorian Remedy
Timorian Remedy

Timor’s newspaper of record and required reading amongst our residents. The Timorian Remedy covers local news with the measured restraint of a publication that has learned, over many decades, which stories are best left alone. This issue talks of a local handyman that went missing. He was last seen entering the dwelling of Mary Forrester, the old lady that collects percaline dolls.

The Remedy does not sensationalise. When it uses the word claims, it has chosen it carefully. This issue covers the death of nine-year-old schoolgirl at her local school. The forthcoming novel covers this story in more detail, and the Substack tells the tale entirely from the spider’s point of view. Ever entered the mind of a ruthless spider?
